We began the year with an enrollment of
twenty-six pupils, but at the end of the first semester we started a kindergarten, so now
our enrollment is thirty-one. We have taken part in two programs this year, one at
Thanksgiving time and the other one in March. Most of the time we are real hard workers,
and Miss Ransom is very proud of us. Won't it be fine to pass into the second grade next
year.
It takes heaps of our time just to train ourselves to sit quietly
in our old hard seats for hours at a time, and sometimes we get so tired we can't tell
where the seat stops and we begin.
We sure think a lot of Miss Ransom, and she teaches us heaps of
little things that real ladies and gentlemen should know that are pretty hard to
remember sometimes. |
