Omadel

JOYCE NELSON AND HAROLD VITTITOE

With streamers and confetti fixing sky high, our 1939 Omadel went over with a bang. The way it succeeded, it pays to look ahead and see a greater and better carnival coming for the next year. Over four hundred people attended the show, and the school building was completely filled. Besides the numerous stands and entertainments, the feature attraction was the noted mid-west dancer and comedian, Sam Brown. The gymnasium at both performances was filled to capacity and those who saw him said his act was one of the best the school has ever shown.
Upstairs in the auditorium was the stage-show, with all the "big-applers", etc. It was topped off with the crowning of Harold Vittitoe as King and Joyce Nelson as Queen of Omadel. The other candidates for election were: Seniors Shirley Wells, Victor Berg; Juniors Sam Strain. Helen Morrow; Freshmen Donn Imrie, Nadine Cross. Here in this same auditorium the name was drawn for the winner of the cedar chest- Mr. Spooner of Mondamin was the lucky person.
The receipts from the carnival this year was $348.17.
Here's hoping for a bigger, better, and more prosperous carnival for next year.
